Battery Park City, NY
Fifty Foot Stainless Steel and Bronze Sculpture, 1988
Jaroff Design was the lead custom architectural metal fabricator on R.M. Fischer’s massive public work that helped inaugurate the residences at Battery Park City. To achieve the artist’s futuristic ode to New York City skyscrapers, we crafted a mix of decorative metal types, details, finishing and joining techniques, and unusual textures that underscore the fantastical, sci-fi inspired shapes. The carefully engineered arch supports a skeletal “Flash Gordon” bell-tower and suspended lighting fixture, one of the many integrated lighting components that illuminate the structure at night.
For the past thirty-eight plus years, Jaroff Design, under the management of founder Joseph Jaroff, has led the design, fabrication, installation and coordination of custom architectural glass and metal for the construction, architecture, interior design and art communities.
