Grand Stair with 8-Foot Wide Structural Glass Treads, Secondary Stair, 70 Linear Feet of Curved Glass Guardrails
We were fortunate this year to consult with Ennead Architects on a significant project for Jazz at Lincoln Center, delivering a Grand Stair that features an industry first; 8-foot wide structural glass treads.
Serving as the focal point of the public space at JALC, the Grand Stair is supported by a 30-ft single run of stringer and weighs in excess of 24,000 lbs. We also design-engineered and fabricated a spectacular curved glass guardrail for the Billie Holiday Terrace that extends 70 linear feet and a corresponding South Staircase, custom acoustic doors and windows and a contemporary glass guardrail for the Benjamin Menschel Arcade.
For the past thirty-eight plus years, Jaroff Design, under the management of founder Joseph Jaroff, has led the design, fabrication, installation and coordination of custom architectural glass and metal for the construction, architecture, interior design and art communities.
