Asia Society & Museum
New York, NY
As a leading custom metal and glass designer in NYC, Jaroff Design was approached by architect Bartholomew Voorsanger to consult on an important project for the Asia Society Museum.
Located at a prestigious Park Avenue address in New York City, the Asia Society & Museum was undergoing a renovation that included its outdoor space.
Voorsanger designed tables and chairs that were minimal, accentuating an open-air aesthetic while offering a nod to the Far East. Not only would these tables have to serve as outdoor meeting area furniture, but they had to be easily removable at times in order for the museum to transform the space for certain program requirements.
Jaroff Design was able to define the most appropriate materials from which to make these tables and redesigned them to be stackable and collapsible for ease of use. Jaroff also added a center-bowl feature which could be utilized in a variety of ways.
Guests of the Asia Society & Museum can now enjoy an outdoor space furnished with tables that were thoughtfully designed specifically for the outdoor space and typical use.
